Software development has to do mainly with what we call “intelligence” or, to say it like Roger Penrose would, “insights”. It is the ability of a single or a group of people to foresee rules, states, conditions, problems and solutions, and hard-code them in a formal and strict language which does not leave much room for “more or less” or “sort of”. Every time a software developer writes a line of code, in that line there’s a little bit of his brain, of his mind. Thus, every program is unique, even if it solves a problem solved by many other programs, because in the end it is the mind of people that is always unique.
