MyDesk

MyDesk was born for the purpose of letting you manage your documents like you do on your desk. Say, putting a sheet in a corner because it is not so important, and another one right in the middle because it’s the first thing you have to do tomorrow.

MyDesk had photorealistic renders of sheets, folders and desktop. Its interface was responding quickly and intuitively to your taps and gestures, like dropping a sheet in a folder or resizing it by a corner. It had a fast search function and was giving you a flowing-preview of your search results.

Last version 1.5 had these features:

  1. *    photos

  2. *    web live bookmarks shown as tablets

  3. *    password-protected folders

  4. *    send folders as zip files

  5. *    shake gesture to reorder the desk

  6. *    preferences

  7. *    comprehensive help

  8. *    Italian and French localization

I was working on these new features:

  1. *    remote access to documents

  2. *    skins

  3. *    widgets

MyDesk has been removed from the App Store on 29 May 2010 by Apple, during one of its infamous app purges, this time involving apps that had a “desktop metaphor”. Since then, it is no more available on the App Store

I am currently working on a new version that can be brought back on the App Store. This new version will no more have the desktop interface, so appreciated by users, but will nonetheless be practical to use and a beauty to see.
